The Perfect WordPress Theme For Regular Bloggers

Today I found a really good theme for this blog. I have been on a hunt for a long time and I always used to go back to the default themes (Twenty-Fifteen to Twenty-Twenty). Today I finally found what I was looking for!

I stumbled upon this wpbeginner blog post listing out a bunch a free themes. Going through it one by one, I found this theme called Primer (by GoDaddy).

It’s really simple and beautiful. I didn’t have to do much customization. Everything just works well out of the box.

What I personally needed was a magazine style home page with posts stacked on top of each other, plus a sidebar to include widgets like a search bar, recent posts, categories, etc. I wanted it to be really minimal and elegant.

I wanted something that looks beautiful with text, code and images, something that looks very organized and easy to navigate.

People are usually overwhelmed by lot of information on the site or confused by too little information (I’m talking about minimal themes here which focus 100% on the post and ignores everything else). I wanted a middle ground.

This theme provides a sweet spot for all my requirements. There were other good free themes (contenders) like Maxwell and Hemingway but I like Primer very much (at least at the moment).
